Nuchi Du Takara: Lessons from the Battle of Okinawa is an exhibition and program series being held by the National Japanese American Historical Society (NJAHS) at its Peace Gallery through August 14, 2011. The exhibit aims to share the story of the Battle of Okinawa through an Okinawan viewpoint, honoring the spirit of war survivors. My mother is one of those war survivors and she performed with her music group at the opening reception. Read more on my Okinawa blog.
